Was going through some old files prepping a submission for the upcoming IPPA Midwest Photo Summit and came across some images I hadn’t looked at or thought about in a while. Not all of them ended up in the portfolio, but I like them enough to put them up.

DaBriah Pace holds son Mekhi. A week after Mekhi’s birth her teenage son, Kenny Holmes Jr., died in an arson at his father’s house in Camden, New Jersey. Kenny’s girlfriend also died in the attack, though neither were believed to have been the intended victims.
